Old Republic Risk Management was approached by a broker for a leading health care service company regarding their dissatisfaction with the existing carrier. The company desired large deductible general liability and auto liability policies with some unique coverage forms. As discussions unfolded, the insured also desired some professional liability coverage. The existing carrier was unwilling to amend its standard coverage forms to the insured’s satisfaction.
We met with the company and broker to fully discuss the underlying coverage issues. Senior Old Republic underwriting personnel drafted coverage forms to address the company’s coverage issues and presented attractive proposal terms for premium and collateral, allowing the company to move its liability policies to Old Republic. After the insured bound the coverages, additional liability policies were issued to address contractual issues for one of the company’s subsidiaries.
